I am not entirely comfortable talking about my art, so I'll try to loosen up a bit by telling you what I am interested in. Much to my surprise, in recent years I have become very interested in the portraits of Auguste Renoir, the riverscapes of Alfred Sisley, and American landscape painting of the 19th century.

In the summer of 1970 while studying painting at the University of Texas at Arlington I started experimenting with painting with highly thinned oils. After working through different techniques, including airbrush to better control the medium and imagery, I eventually returned to staining raw canvas in a manner similar to techniques used by Helen Frankenthaler and Morris Louis. I found this gave me the subtlety that was difficult to duplicate in any other medium.

I graduated in 1972 with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Painting and did a bit of postgraduate work at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia in the winter of 1974.

I began first producing art with the computer in 1983 and in 1993 I and fellow painter Wendy Meyer co-produced Design Electronica / Dot.Pixel.Image, the first large-scale exhibition of digital art in South Florida. Curated by the Director of the Fort Worth Museum of Modern Art and the Creative Director of Interview Magazine, the exhibition featured the work of over 100 artists from across the country. It was held at Fort Lauderdale's Museum of Discovery and Science. The exhibition, which featured speakers, demonstrations, an animation film festival and hands-on participation stations, ran for five months and was viewed by over 250,000 people

I am closely involved with the Electronic Design Association of South Florida serving on the board of directors and as vice president. I have spoken extensively locally on both technical and aesthetic issues as well as teaching the occasional class in Photoshop and digital imaging at Palm Beach County Community College.
